If you are a teen (between 12 and 19) and have been affected in any way by alcoholism in a relative or friend, Alateen is for you.
Alateen offers electronic and in-person meetings and resources that you can access whenever you need help.
Meetings for Teens
Alateen meetings are safe spaces where teens affected by alcoholism and addiction share experience, strength, and hope. All meetings are run by teens, for teens. Adult sponsors are facilitators, not managers or supervisors. Sponsors are qualified, screened Al-Anon members who meet and follow the requirements and guidelines that are prescribed by Al-Anon’s Northern California World Service Area.
Meetings in San Francisco
San Francisco Alateen meetings are held on Monday evenings. For information about the meetings, see the following flyer. If you have questions or comments about Alateen, email or call or text the Alateen coordinator (415 501 0694).
Meetings in the Greater Bay Area
Alateen and Young Adults in Recovery (YAR) meetings are held at various times throughout the Bay Area. All meetings are open to teens. Some meetings are via Zoom, and some are in person. For information about the meetings available to you or to contact a meeting sponsor, see Zoom & In-Person Alateen and YAR Meetings - ALL Open to All Teens.
